Frequently asked questions
on Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Rebate
1. What is the Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Rebate?
A national rebate program launched on 1 July 2025, offering homeowners around $335–$372 per kWh of usable battery capacity (based on the current STC forecast of $36 to $40). This rebate will decrease annually by approximately 10–15% until the scheme concludes in 2030.
Lock in your savings early, as the rebate will step down annually until the program ends.
2. Who is eligible?
You can claim the rebate if:
You’re an Australian homeowner or business. You purchase a new home battery system that meets the program criteria:
- AC-coupled or DC-coupled
- CEC-approved and installed by a Clean Energy Council-accredited installer
3. How much can I save?
You can receive up to $360 per usable kWh of installed battery capacity under the Federal Battery Rebate. For example, a 10 kWh system may attract a rebate of up to $3,600. While the rebate applies to systems up to 50 kWh, most households typically install 10 kWh to 20 kWh batteries, depending on their energy usage and storage needs.
4. When does the rebate start and how do I apply?
Program launch date: 1 July 2025
How to apply: No direct application needed. We will process the rebate after the installation, reducing your purchase cost immediately.
5. Are there time limits or caps?
Each property can receive one rebate. The program is available until allocated funding runs out, so early action is recommended.
6. What about STCs or other incentives?

Yes. All our technicians are fully licensed and insured, with extensive experience in solar installation and compliance with Australian standards (NETCC) and Solar Victoria..
8. Do solar batteries come with a warranty?
